Hey Slick,
Welcome aboard! Its nice to see another '50 joining up.
What do you have in the wood shelf coming down from overhead? What sort of engine set up do you have? Will the hood shut or are you planning to modify?
Hi slick, Nice truck, those engine bay aren't very wide but sure a lot of room going up! looking for a tunnel ram for mine also to fill the void. Ha Ha. Also Welcome
Looks like it's coming along Slick! First I have to say we share a lot of similarities, most noticeable is the color,...that wouldn't happen to be grabber orange, would it? I also share the "building on a budget" limitation. I guess the up side is the pride in ownership and satisfaction you get from doing stuff yourself within your own means. I see you went the S-10 route which set you right up for a bowtie under the hood but we can still get along! Anyways, looking good & keep us posted on the progress!
thanks everyone for the kind words the headliner is actually thin carpet that i picked up for a whopping $20.00. the paint is school bus yellow i thought i had the body work done but there are places i didn't get smoothed down so i got to redo some parts on the cab that i didn't do well on i'm not much of a body man but i'm learning by mistakes but i will make it look right when warmer weather gets here i will keep you up dated on progress.
the wood box is where im gonna put my stereo and the hood sits on there perfectly no modification at all. the motor is 350 chevy bored 40 over with edelbrock tunnel ram 2 450 holley carbs th 350 tranny with stall converter and i have to say that i couldn't believe how the well the body sits on the s-10 frame the only thing i had to do was make the cab corners a little shorter on each side and i got to make some brackets to bolt the cab down. i have some brackets that i made but gonna try and make it better than what i have now i think it would be safe but want to make sure. i am going with 15x10 wheels in back 14x7 up front and i love the way it sits i will take some pictures of it when i can get it outside so you can see what its gonna look like still gotta do wiring, brakes, tires, fix bed make brackets to extend of s-10 frame on front to mount bumper and so on
oh yeah forgot to mention one other thing in case your wondering about the buick in my pictures. i am taking parts off of it to put on the truck like the wiring harness, steering column, and what ever else i think i might be able to use. thinking about trying to fabricate the windshield wiper motor to work in the truck also but don't know if i can but we will see let u know if it works and let u know how i did it if it works lol
