got this 7.3 from a friend of a friend. it came out of a rv and has 150k miles on it and ran when they pulled it.i dont know the year of the rv.i think it has a van turbo on it but not sure because of no waste gate. i have a 2001 and was wondering if the turbo and injectors would be an upgrade and fit. also how to find out if it has the good rods in it.

Nothing is an "upgrade" (a word to often used these days) or would be beneficial to use in a later truck. You may have a good long block on your hands, but don't try to use any of the external parts such as the turbocharger (or even just the turbine housing) because they won't fit when trying to mate with the later truck parts.
ok thanks. i read some other threads about van turbos were better than truck turbos. i guess this one must be to old to work on my truck? can i use the injectors out of the engine? cant seem to find any info on them(as far as A0 goes).
If you're looking to put a van turbocharger turbine housing on your engine, this one will not work without some serious fabrication. I have mocked-up a 95-97 turbine housing on a 99-03 turbocharger setup on a spare 99-03 engine I have here and the mish-mash of parts used (including a Duramax turbine outlet pipe flange) makes installing the older-style turbine housings a bit prohibitive in the way of cost/fabrication/parts hunting for the minimum gain (if any) you'll see by using stock parts.
As far as the AO injectors are concerned, they're the original rendition of AA injectors.
