Good morning guys.
I hope everyone has a good weekend.
I used to think the same. But two and a half years as an OTR truck driver with 10- and 13-speed transmission cured me of that. I don't miss rowing my own gears one little bit. In fact I regretted getting the standard transmission in my '11 Mustang.[/quote]
I decided between the kids and the phone it was not a good idea Tom.
But I do miss the control.
Took the day off today and headed top New haven shortly. The wife has a seminar at southern so I was asked to drive her. So while she is in there I'm on my own to get into trouble. I'm a little bummed though because Sally pizza doesn't open till 5 and Pete got it stick in my head a few days ago.
Good morning all. A nice rainy day ahead. Pooling water in the roads expected. Watch it and be safe.
I'm with Miles, I love my truck. weather I'm hauling or just driving threw snow or down a dirt road even cruising down the highway. Driving long distances I take the truck over the Jeep. Comfort is the word of the day.
Morning guys, watch out for ice. I came in at 2 and salted while the drunks tried to get home safely.....always a fun time. Drunk twenty somethings in short skirts stuck in snow banks are fun to watch. After that we went right back into hauling snow. I'm starting to realize I need a gym membership, all I've done for a month is eat and sit in the driver's seat and its starting to catch up with me
I know what you mean Dano, I used to have to really watch what I ate when I drove trucks. Your irregular schedule makes that very hard to do though, I hope it gets better for you soon!
My driveway is an absolute mess. Yesterday the packed snow turned into slush that liked to eat cars. The van that takes my son to school got stuck, as did my wife's AWD minivan. I tend to think it was poor driving that caused it though, my RWD Lincoln got in and out without issue. This morning it's an icy, slushy mess again. Really looking forward to it melting off today!
Good Morning!! Spent yesterday running errands and in the mix put new (to me) tires on the pickup. Pics soon.... I love driving my truck but there are days I miss zipping around in the Focus. Shooting up and down winding roads were fun, hugging the corners, something the truck can't do.
I've been getting the itch to get another car. Which makes NO financial sense at the moment. And this is a particularly mock-worthy urge on a truck forum: I want a hybrid!
Holy crap, each one of those new compressed air driers uses what looks like three massive compressors stacked on a flatbed. I guess they work much quicker than the jet driers. Pretty cool!
Back in the land of constant cell reception. Trails are awesome and we got about 110 miles in til my friends sled primary clutch got stuck open so it would only run above 5000 rpm lol
