New to 2009+ forums
Hey everyone, just making a deal on a 2010 F150 FX4 Crew cab short box. Just wondering if there is anything I should be watching out for; common problems, major failures, any information you have. My 2005 F150 gave out finally so I am moving up. Looking through about 10 pages of threads I can't seem to pin-point any common issues, but would like to be sure before I take delivery. Thanks in advance

The '09 and '10 models had some transmission software glitches that affected shifting patterns but it's long been resolved. The early '11 models had a batch of bad torque converters but that's been resolved.
Coming from a 2005, you will notice immediately that the six speed trans feels nothing like what you've owned previously. It seems to have it's own personality and it's programmed to adjust itself to your driving style.
GM and Ford are using the same transmission but tailored to their own needs. These transmissions are built under licensing agreements from ZF. Nothing to worry about.
