broken/cut vacuum hoses
Hey guys, I recently discovered three vacuum hoses (pink,green, and yellow)
broken or just cut by PO. I believe these service the vapor evaporation system going to the charcoal canisters.
Should I try to reconnect these or just not worry about them? I don't have any smog testing here. Also, the smog pump was removed by PO.
Which of the color coded vacuum hoses are vital to actual performance of the engine? I have red,green, yellow, orange, pink, and the basic black. I think for sure the red and black hoses are required but not positive.
Your help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Chuck M.
This will also have a calibration code.
Plastic hoses get brittle and snap all by themselves, but if the P.O. has gutted the emissions you should (at the least) cap any lines that have vacuum present.
Here's a thread that might help you identify what lines and components are missing.

Was not aware there was a calibration number - If I have the right number, it is e5ae-9c485-CRF . The first two sections of this code say it is for a 1985 mustang emissions vacuum diagram - boy I wish this truck had that simple layout - very clean!
Is the CRF significant? haven't been able to find a site that will decode the code.
I believe this truck was made for Calif. but has spent it's entire life in Wash. state - Eastern side so no emissions testing required.
Again, thanks for your help!

And it is for your truck, not anything about a Mustang.
E= '80's
5= '85
A=Ford division
E=Engine part
9C485 is a basic part number for all of these stickers!
Even mine;
Gary Lewis has elaborated on how many calibrations there really are, but I doubt anyone outside of Ford knows what each one is (means).
