If you are going to spend the $$$ to replace the steering box, I would also install a power steering system filter. I found mine at Napa, PN is 18514 for the 3/8ths size inlet/outlet. The filter is mfg by Magnafine and has a magnet and a serviceable filter screen.
I had a problem a couple years back with my steering system, crud from the failing pump was deposited in the steering box and the hydra boost unit. The steering would stick and then release. I ended up replacing all three components and installing a filter.
