my grandpa used to have a 79 f150 that he used for towing on the farm, well he sold it for a 2000 silverado 2500, he has a parts truck that has a 400 4 speed and is 4x4 that he no longer needs, all that is missing is seats and the front spindles, was wondering if this platform would be good for a go kart, was thinking of either buying it and making it my scarp metal hauling truck or making it into a 4x4 street legal go kart type thing, what is everyones thoughts on this?
Why not find a junkyard seat and spindles? Just drive it as a dent and play off road? Like someone posted above, you could pull the doors for added fun(and danger).

yeah i got to thinking and all of a sudden it was like duh why did i not think of that before, add a cage to it for added safety off road and then i could still haul scrap metal with it, then i wouldnt have to buy another pickup for scrap metal (though then i wouldnt have a reason to buy a 3/4 ton obs ford with a 7.3 in it lol) well thanks guys i think my questions have been answered, i think my grandpa has a seat from a different truck that fits, but where would i go for getting spindles, scrap yards dont have anything that old around here would lmc have any, also is there a different name for them? i looked on rock auto for a rough price check and there was nothing listed under spindle, but there was listings for spindle nuts.
77 and 79, that is almost exactly how i want to do it, but i havent decided if i want to leave the cab or tear it off and leave the "cage" showing
Just get the complete front axle from the JY and put it in. Leave cab on ='s heat stays in with doors on, more fun in winter time. That way its a all season wheeler.
Take doors off for summer, YES on a roll cage, NOT a bed mounted light bar, A ROLL CAGE. 4 point attached to the frame, if it a scrap yard truck have fun, but be safe.
Seat belts...glass out, lexan plastic in, flat bed to haul more scrap at once ect...
I have a spare complete cab and might go that route, but I got the race car chassis at such a great craigslist deal I could not pass it up, and it sat on there very nicely.
I have a complete 460 C-6 NP-205 to drop in, some 8" lift springs and some 44's, make the call on the cab or make the cage stay there.....
Then give it to the wife, so she stays out of my Bronco. lol
I have used Driven Auto Parts out of Pheonix AZ. They deal in just about anything 4x4. Especially early bronco's. I needed a pair of knuckles for my 78 a couple of years ago. I got them from those guys. I was sent to them by the guys at bronco graveyard.
