I just want to throw this OPINION out there as well...
In my mind powder coated bumper would look phenominal. I think they would look far better on day 1 than say, Adobe LineX bumpers would. However, a year later the LineX bumpers would look better for two reasons.
1. Stone chips, salt, stress cracks and paint cracking from them.
2. LineX while not looking awesome stays looking pretty dang good over the life of the bumper and holds up very well against stone chips, chemicals, and stress cracks from what I've seen on my last 3 trucks.
So don't be tempted by the bling...it's a truck and it's going to see unpaved roads. Not that you were tempted, but someone else might be
Hopefully I will have everything together and ready to go by the time the snow melts. My bumpers are in my shed, just need to order my rims and rubber and decide if Im going to install the lift myself or find a shop, truck is going through its 3rd winter now, so I think it might be a pain, rusty bolts wise, I don't have any torches or anything....
I'm for sure thinking line-x Andre, kinda threw me for a loop though when they said they couldn't guarantee a good match. I forget what they called this certain line-x, it has Kevlar built into it and they said it will always keep a glossy look to it though.
I'm big into fishing and hunting way out in the bush, so durability is important.
Well, get a second quote if you know another dealer. You can call some of them. I called mine and described what you want to do and he told me $750, but I have to bring him the bumpers. So he preps them and sprays them the LineX color match for $750 for 2 bumpers. Not sure if your price had them removing and reinstalling them or not? This included the color charge.
That price seems reasonable to me. I will have to call back and make sure they understand that the bumpers aren't on the truck right now.
The closest city to me that does line-x has 2 shops, both are owned by the same guy, lol. My only other option would be to look at the other brands...rhino or whatever the other brands are called...

Call a city that is far away and tell them what you are doing and ask for a price. They don't need to know you are too far away. After talking to my dealer, I think the price is high, but every thing in Canada seems higher .
Good idea, I'll call the next city over we travel to some times.
Ya we seems to pay more for just about everything up here, lol. I don't mind a little more, if I had to pay 100$ more then your quote I wouldn't mind that
Yeah, that smiley face wasn't me being smug as it appears (at least to me now that I see it). I was just trying to soften the hard truth that you guys get screwed up there. Sorry.
