Question 98 horn for every start blues

They just got a nice 98 F-150 for me to drive at work. Sweet truck.
The only thing that bugs me is the stupid key system where you have to press the unlock button just about every time you want to start it. Is there any way to disable this annoyance?

You shouldn't have to do that unless you lock the doors every time that you get out. Do you not have the remote for the locks?

If the truck sits unlocked for more than a minute or two you have to press the unlock button for it to start. Doesn't seem right.

do you have the owners manual, it describes how to disable some of the lock options. I don't know if it will help you or not.

Is it an aftermarket alarm system?

Seems to be Ford. I checked the manual and it tells you to push the button to "disable".

Today I noticed that the key doesn't fit the doors. Just the ignition. Hmmm.
