evap system help

I have an 86 f150 302 EFI. I never have found a purge valve or solenoid, just hoses from the evap canister to the throttle body. I houng both the purge valve and the solenoid numbers in the ford parts book, I even foung the parts cheap. Now I need help with the hookup. The diagrams in the parts book are no help and the shop manual is no help. How do iI connect everything and where is the solenoid connected? A diagram or some pictures would be a big help. Thanks

Is there an emissions or vacuum diagram sticker somewhere under the hood? Like on the underside of the hood, rad support, or valve cover than might provide some clues?

Post a picture of it if you find one.

I'm not sure about EFI systems, but on my 85 it was hooked up like this:

One line from the EVAP canister to the fuel tanks
One line to the Carburetor bowl vent, with an in-line thermal valve and a solenoid to manage when the bowl vents
One line to a port on the PVC valve, also an inline solenoid to control when it allows the EVAP system to purge.

Now that I removed the computer:

Bowl vent via thermal valve to purge valve on EVAP canister. Fuel tank to second connection on purge valve. PCV via restrictor to purge valve purge port. Ported vacuum to thermal ported vacuum switch to purge valve control.

Bottom line: Carburetor (and I'm guessing throttle body also) only wants to vent when the engine is warm and off. Purge only when warm and running. The ported switch controls the purge valve with ported vacuum, accomplishing both goals. IN the computer controlled version, this is done by the computer via the solenoids and sensors.
