Fuel Guage Problems on a E250
I was talking with a neighbor today and he was telling me about the problems he's having with his fuel gauge on his E250. It started two weeks ago when he filled it up the needle only moved up to the empty mark and stoped and has been doing it ever since. My question is this is it possible the float is stuck? or is it a ground problem in the pickup or gauge.

Fuel Guage Problems on a E250
The problem is usually in the float or the sending unit, all of which is in the tank. Unfortunately, Ford sells the sending unit with the fuel pump for some models with EFI. I just went through all of this with my F-250 last year. I think the part was about $150 from the dealer (pump and sender). There are probably cheaper replacements, but I feel that the factory part is more reliable. I also suggest replacing the vent valve on the tank while you have it dropped.
