Would 1.71 rockers be good too? The other rockers I was thinking of were aluminum, which I don't think would be good for a daily driver. I know aluminum as a material does have a finite amount of cycles it can handle over its life while steel has an "infinite" life under proper stress.
However, it's a slightly bigger size and they aren't roller rockers which I hear are a little more efficient. I'm afraid 1.71 might have interference issues with the valve covers or something, but I don't really know.
Edit: It says the 1.71 rockers fit boss 302 engines.. I don't know what the difference between the boss 302 and standard 302. I can't find any good info online if they have interchangeable parts either..
Aluminum roller rockers will fit under the stock valve covers but the oil baffles for PCV and oil fill have to be clearanced slightly. Tall valve covers will fit under the 5.0 upper intake but they won't fit on the 5.8 without a plenum spacer, that doesn't affect you but I thought I'd throw it in for others reading this thread. Crane, Ford Racing, or Scorpion rockers are what you want.
Okay thank you that sounds good. I've never looked at the valve covers, so I'm not 100% sure what the baffles look like, but I'm sure with them off I will see what they are. I assume a dremel tool will be good enough to modify the baffles?
