Help!!!!!!!!!! Heater shut off question.

Ok, I did this mod. I tapped into the red vac line and now my Max A/C acts like the defroster with air coming from defroster vents and dash vents. My A/C setting acts like the Max A/C setting. When I turn it off, it has everlasting vaccuum leak sound. What's up? Please help!

Are you sure all the vacuum connections are tight? It sounds like something is wrong. Did you cut the red line away from the white connector and install a tee or did you pull the red line out of the white connector? I've done this on my truck ('99) and it works much better and for only $15. I'm glad someone started this thread on doing the valve. The white connector can come loose easy I noticed on mine and let air in.

Ok, Duh....I'm an idiot! When I unplugged the vaccuum harness of 5 vac lines the plastic coupler came off and I reinstalled it upside down.....so, all vaccuum lines were backwards. I was about to fall asleep thinking about it when it hit me what I did. So I went downstairs to fix it. Now, things are exactly they way they should be..COLD!!!!! I love this mod! I'm usually not this stupid!!!!! Take note of my mistake!!
