Hi all. I've been working a weight ratings project for some time, trying to maximize my payload on the truck while staying within all the safety ratings. I think I just can't get under the rear axle rating of 6100 on the truck as its set-up now (2008 F-250 CC SWB V10 4.10LS camper package), but I'm under the tire ratings (3600 per tire). Being as I'm pretty sure I've got the same axle (4N) as an F-350 of the same year (GAWR 7000 ish) My last piece of mind question would be if I'm under the wheel ratings? I've got 18in wheels, not sure which ones, but anyone know where I could find the wheel weight ratings?
To get the load rating, you best bet is to find a rim you like and then go to the manufactureres website and look it up there. Places like tirerack don't post up that information, and i'm not sure why. But I know that the ATX series wheels are 3600lb rated. hope this helps
Does the F-350 with 7100 lb RAWR have the same 18" wheels? If so, then the wheels aren't your limiting factor at the moment.
Most commonly, the axle rating is directly related to the recommended PSI listed on the door sticker. For SRW trucks, Ford usually adjusts the inflation pressure to set the axle ratings since that is the first determining factor in most cases.
