PSD Catalytic Converter Question

I want to know if there is any benefit to my truck in keeping on the catalyst converter, does it improve H.P. in any way? ....... or is it strictly for polution control. I live in a country where there is no law pertaining to cat converters, and if it would improve my engine performance I'd just like to take the damn thing off..... My PSD has over 200'000 miles on it with the original converter still on it ....... by now its probably restricting the exhaust air flow...... What are the pros and cons of just removing the bloody thing ?
(My model is listed below)

PSD Catalytic Converter Question

I removed mine when I put my Banks system on....no ill effects. As far as I know nothing will be harmed by removing it. I would wait for more input than just me though. There may be a bit of a HP gain just from the reduced restriction.

PSD Catalytic Converter Question

There is almost no back pressure in the cat, It shouldn't make much difference.

PSD Catalytic Converter Question

I disagree. The cat is quite restrictive, and removing it will improve flow, increase power, and reduce EGT's.
