vibration

hey guys i have a 1994 f150 5.8 and I was driving down the highway when I herd a clanking sound and all the sudden the truck lost all power pulled over and tried to start the truck the truck just turned over so I towed the truck home to inspect the problem and found out that the flywheel had been shattered so I replaced the flywheel. the truck started fine but now I have a vibration when the truck is running in park ,drive all the time except when I drive the truck and get it up 45 miles a hour the vibration stops

its possible that the origonal cause was the torque convertor fins or fin could have broken inside.Remember a vibration will always catch up to itself. If its a automatic

Are we dealing with a flywheel or a flexplate here (is this a manual trans or auto trans arrangement)?

Since the OP states "park" and "drive" in his post, I'm pretty sure it's an auto.

Well then there's the problem...a flywheel doesn't belong on an auto.

OP, I'd verify that the old and new flexplates are of the same balance for starters (are they both weighted or not). As goodybrain2001 said, the TC absolutely could be damaged.

Yes auto only has a ring gear(flex plate) and a standard has a ring gear pressed on the flywheel.Yes all ring gears(flex plates )are balanced . Keep me up to date. Also when you remove trans.check the torque convertor up and down movement for bushing wear on the input of the trans.
