2.5in lift with 32x11.5?

Hi I know there are threads all over the place about lifts but not much on 2.5in. I'm just wondering how a 2.5 in lift with 32's would look? I have a 94 f150 4x4 with a 302. It currently has a 6in lift with 35's but I've read a lot about power, gearing and mpg problems with this setup. It's not currently on the road and it needs new tires before so and I don't wanna buy new tires if I'm gonna lower the truck. I'm either leaning towards a 2.5in with 32's or a 4in with 33's. But I dont think it'll change the performance only going down to a 4 in with 33's. Any input and/or pics of 2.5in with 32's is appreciated!

I have a 1991 F-150 with a 2.5" lift and 32" tires. Take a look at it here.

I ran 32x11.50-15 trail buster aprs on stock alcoas with no lift on my 94 rlc with no problems at all, and that was through pastures, hunting leases and cane fields for a few years, on my 85 I had 32's on 15x8 white spokes and on my 88 f150 31x11.50r15 Winston's on stock wheels no lift, however if you already have a 6 inch it would be a lot cheaper just to get a 2.5" all spring lift but you may have to change the drop pitman arm you already have as well as your shocks and your longer brake lines, I would caution to stay away from 10" wheels with no lift or moderate lift as that is a lot of stress on ball joint and rod ends, not to mention the back spacing is a little weird, however they look awesome with the wider wheels but for 32's if you can find them no wider than 8,s. In my area the only thing that we can get readily available in a 32 is the mud star that looks like the buckshot mudders awesome tire and pull real good.

Thanks! I will have to say that the 2.5" lift fixed all of the stock suspension problems that I had with the truck when I first got it. It was to the point that it only had about 2 ~ 3 inches of travel before bottoming out. Driving down the back roads is a lot better now as it doesn't bottom out any more. I think that I can get 33" tires on it without any problems. Here is my new member writeup. Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums - View Single Post - NEW MEMBER Introduction Thread (NO TECH QUESTIONS)

so you suggest the 2.5 over the 4? I really don't know what to expect cause I bought the truck and have been fixin her up ever since so I have never driven it on the road. Just around the yard.

If I was in your shoes I would do the 2.5 over the four, mainly because you want more pulling power and more than likely you still have stock gears most likely 3.55 if I had to guess. Or even 3.08 was common also.

yeah I have stock 3.55 gears. I want the 2.5 inch based on better performance. But I bought the truck originally cause I liked the tall stance. Im afraid I might be disappointed with the 2.5 and once I buy theres no going back.

I'm looking to go to 4.11 from 3.55 gears with the 32s -> 33s to get the power back while passing on the highway. 4.11 + 33s = stock gearing with stock tires. Still takes more torque to spin up the heavier tires. I really like my suspension but I don't rock crawl.

at this point in time, im not experienced enough to regear. and im not willing to pay someone. that's why I want 32's. trying to decide if Ill be satisfied with a 2.5 inch lift after seeing it with 6 inch. the previous owner said he had a 4 inch lift originally and thought it wasn't big enough so he went to the 6 inch

If it's stance you want, I'd personally go with a 4" suspension lift. However you can fit 33s with just a 2" lift or even a leveling kit. As for power, 33s definently won't perform like stock acceleration wise but neither will 32s. I'd personally go with whatever my budget allowed (a 4 in suspension lift is a good deal more expensive than a 2.5 in lift) and 33s. You can regear later. You won't win any races with stock gears and 33s but these trucks are not short on power so you should at least beat a prius lol so I would think it would be manageable with stock gears. As always, YMMV and good luck

Thanks for the input! And let's hope I can still beat a Prius otherwise that's a problem!

okay so Ive decided that im going with the 2.5in over the 4. But I have also read a lot on doing a f250 spring swap. Not sure which is the best option to choose here. And as my truck sits now it has a 6in lift so that's what im working with, not stock components. What are your opinions? Ive heard f250 springs make the ride a lot rougher unless you get 2 inch lift shocks. So would I just be better off going with the entire lift? Which option is cheaper? and what option would go best with 32x11.5r15 as that is the tire choice im leaning towards. truck: 94 f150 4x4. All and any responses are appreciated

You'll have to take out all the brackets from the lift and mail them to me when you change to a 2" lift but the truck will look good. I have a 2"lift all around with 33s and I like it. I re geared to make it drive like stock and when I step up tires again I'm going to add a lot more gear to make it pull like crazy.

do you think 32's would look too small with your 2" lift? cause im not wanting to go to 33's as im not regearing right now and don't want to sacrifice too much performance.

Also not sure if anyone knows just how much f250 springs will lift my f150 4x4. I read that on f150 4x4s f250 springs will only lift it 1 inch...? Is that true? If so I think it makes more sense just to go with a 2.5 in lift...
