The heater blower on my 79 f250 won't shut off. I can turn the fan speed up and down, but when I pull the slide control to "off", the fan won't quit. The lower slide offers (left to right) off, vent, AC, hi/lo, heat, defrost. I assume that between off and vent, I'm activating an electrical switch to send power through the speed control switch and on to the blower motor. Is that correct? It seems that there must also be an electrical switch that turns the A/C on, but the other controls on that slide activate vacuum motors, right? Anyone have a diagram of the control? And how hard is it to work on? Just trying to get an idea about how the control works before I tear into the thing. And kind of hoping you guys'll tell me I don't need to... Any advise is appreciated.
The selector switch is both electric and vacuum. or should i say actuates both and electric switch and vacuum controls. The electric part would be what you need to look at. I know, very technical terms.
