I found a 97' 351w for my 89' Bronco I need to figure out if the flywheel I have will work with the new motor or not. I ask because while the imbalance on the flywheels are the same at 28oz. the total weight of the flywheel for 95 up 351w is 35lbs 94' down are 30lbs. Has anyone here done a swap and used a 94' down 351w flywheel with a 95' up 351w. I am running a ZF5 transmission.
Total weight makes no difference, the imbalance factor is the only thing you need to worry about here. The 5 extra pounds just makes it a tad slower to rev, but at the same time stores more energy for the times when a little extra "oomph" is needed to take off.

^This exactly. All 351Ws use a 28oz imbalance. The mass, diameter or any other aspect won't matter to the engine, just the balance.
Good I was thinking so but I really haven't done much with the newer 5.8 blocks. I am switching all my stuff over to roller cams and it's just easier to buy a roller block that to convert a older flat tappet one.
