1959 Parking Brake
My brake is hooked up and functional except when I pull it out it doesn't stay engaged. The handle slips back into the "brake off" position. There is no information in the manual. There are slots in the part that pulls out but I can't find anything they should be engaging in. Does anybody have a clue?

It has been a while since I sold my 59, but there should be a spring loaded ratcheting pawl that engages the serrated section of the handle. I seem to remember having to twist the handle to release the parking brake.
