I bought my 04 SCREW F150 used a little over a year ago. It now has 108k for miles, and even though it still rides good I'm thinking of replacing the struts/shocks. I want to get the Rancho quicklifts for the front, but it looks like there is already a spacer above the front strut. I can remove the spacer which looks to be about 1 1/2 inches, but the quicklifts say they raise the front 2 1/2 inches. The truck sits level now so I'm trying to figure out if the rear was lowered some or if the 2 1/2 inch lift doesn't really end up being 2 1/2 inches. Right now I have 9 inches from the tire to the fender in the front and 9 1/2 in the back, so I don't want to go up in the front any more than it already is. Is there anything to look for to determine if the rear was lowered? There is a spacer above the axle and below the leaf springs. Could this have been reduced?
Here are some pictures of the currrent setup. I'm trying to figure out what has been changed from stock and if the truck will sit level if I use the quickLIFT struts up front.
Here is the front strut. I believe there is a spacer in there adding about 1 1/2 inches of lift.
Here are some pictures of the rear suspension I'm not sure if this is all stock or not?
Here is a picture of how the truck sits now. It looks level, so I would not want to go up on the front anymore.
I replaced my stock struts and 2" A/S spacers with the Rancho Quicklift Struts. There was less than 1/4" height difference either way. Sits pretty level. front definitely not higher than rear. I have only stock blocks in rear with Rancho 9000 shocks. Not positive, but I do not recall the Quickstruts coming in different heights (e.g. 2", 2-1/2", etc.) like the spacers do.
I had 2.5 inch HBS spacers but replaced that setup with the quicklifts when I broke a coil spring. With the spacers truck sat level to slightly nose up, with the quicklifts I am slightly nose down which I prefer.
