first powerstroke! '00 f350 reg cab lb

First of all I'm upgrading from my idi, however this is a whole new animal.
'00 f250 7.3 zf6 120k reg cab long box
I'm 90% it's 3:73 gears (why wouldn't it be 4:10 with a zf6) any problems with this year? Oilpan and cooler are solid. I'm buying it for $7300 from a dealer after quite a bit of haggling
Thanks guys!

welcome, you'll like your truck. Tell us more about it, like milage and such. There are no particular problems, just things that normally happen due to time and age. Start reading the maintenance pages (tech links) at the top of the page, you'll be busy for hours and learn about your truck.

Congrats and welcome to the best informational site around.
120K on the clock is nothing for these trucks. I am just shy of 300K on my 99. Bought it with 80k and it hasn't skipped a beat in 7yrs.
Regular maintenance and start scouring through the threads here for things you can expect to start going out. The work is pretty easy and it will save you a fortune doing it yourself.

Congrats! I also went from an IDI to a 2000 F350 PSD. Mine is a crew cab with a ZF6 and it has 4:10 gears but my buddy has a 99.5 with a ZF6 and his has 3:73 so apparently it's not uncommon. I actually wish mine had 3:73. You're gonna love the power jump over the IDI. Working on the PSD isn't too bad but it's not near as simple as the IDI. I love my PSD but I still have a '93 IDI and I'll have it as long as I live hopefully!
