Part # 1000192 is the same part for both the Excursion and Super Duty there?
That is exactly what my dealer thought. He ordered the parts for the "number 2" position insulators and when I took off my old ones and compared them, the little part at the bottom that goes through the hole in the frame was more narrow. It wouldn't work because it would allow play side to side (which what I was trying to get rid of). I don't know why it was different
Anyway, the parts guy had to spend some time and finally found the parts I actually needed at a place called "Vintage Parts". He had to special order them. It says "Special Order: Vintage Parts" on my receipt.
I don't know fellas... it just makes me nervous. And ExV10 brings a great point about things like the GEM modules and such.
Okay,
I just pulled the invoice from my files and here are the numbers that had to be ordered for my Ex.... and these numbers were the EXACT parts match (shape, size, orange color paint, etc):
Insulator Upper: 2C3Z1000154JA
Insulator Lower: 2C3Z1000155GA
Washer: W705721-S438 (Same for both sides)
Bolt Right Side: W711306-S439
Bolt Left Side: W705719-S439
These are for the Number 2 and 3 positions, both sides.
OK, so what I'm gathering from this thread is that I need to find another low mileage pristine Excursion and keep it in a storage unit in case anything fails on my truck
Some of this stuff you can't escape even with low mileage. Time takes it's toll on everything I know my squeaking is coming from these body mounts that are now difficult to find.

I think all those insulators can be fixed with some ingenuity, especially if they are just squeaking.

No, buy the pristine drive it and keep yours for parts.
I didn't say "end your life", I said "enjoy life".

Hope that helps in the search!

This sounds promising....I see you have a 2005 Excursion James....I hope these part #s will possibly work on earlier Excursions. How did you wind up originally directed to these part #s?
James, also are you sure that wasn't receipt from the parts that came in wrong originally? Did the part numbers you gave come from Vintage Parts?
When I check the numbers you gave they come back to Super duty trucks F350's etc and not Excursions. I think maybe the receipt you had in your files was for the parts that came in wrong originally.

No Sir,
Those are the correct numbers. I even have the "Genuine Ford Parts", blue and white stickers that came off of the parts themselves (I kept them on a piece of paper in my files also). Those parts were the exact match to ones that came off of the Ex.
I DO remember however, during the 4-day hunt with my parts guy, that he was looking up alternate years and was finding that the older years now had superseded part numbers... for some reason, Ford changed the numbering on them. There were even out of date part numbers that he found for the newer, exact parts numbers.... it was a nightmare really. That is why I went so far as to keep the actual stickers that came off the parts!
One thing I was told by an old technician who had about 15 years or so of experience with Ford. He was standing there on one of the days I was in there and he said that the Excursion basically amounts to the "Frankenstein" of the Ford family. He said he hasn't seen as many parts borrowed from as many different platforms all stuck onto one SUV ever....
Anywho.... those are, indeed, the correct numbers for an 05 Excursion.
Couldn't one take one of these bushings in good condition and shoot it to a poly shop and ask them to replicate it? Obviously they would have to change something about it as to not infringe on patents, but I think this would be easier then chasing down 10 year old parts. Let us know if you guys find anymore of these, this is interesting to me.

Um...just noticed your Sig. Did you REALLY drive "70,000 miles from California" to buy your Ex!? Man, are you dedicated!
Sorry for the hijack, but that caught my eye.......
