Need a Brake Man
Well, brakes were acting funny, pedal felt hard last time I drove it. Got some seized lifters replaced, put on my new intake, carb & wouldn't start. figured out I'd burned out my module by leaving key on all night with battery charger on- got that sorted & "while I'm in there" replaced my vacuum unit on dist, contact- started right up
Took her for a test drive & less than a mile from the house, slowed down & wouldn't move. Engine ran, but felt like parking brake was fully engaged (which, considering it never worked worth a S**t, wasn't likely. Finally looked at right rear tire, figued out it had been dragging. Wheel bearing, hmmm? Got the drum off, WRONG.

yep, return and other spring had broken and stuff had been dragging in between shoes and drum. Finally siezed up - chewed up the drum nicely too- nothing a good turning at the local machine shop didn't solve (AutoBone has never seen a drum the size of an F250, can't do it
- chain brake shops don't have real mechanics, tell you they cant' turn them for "liablity reasons" then offer to sell you a new chinese one for 150 bucks, right). Anyway, got myself a brake hardware kit & decided to run through both sides - replaced cylinders while at it (with some cheapees with dumbArase metric bleeder threads????WTF).
so now, got it all hooked up, and when I pull the Parking Brake lever to test it, the right side shoe lifts up, and then does not return- any advice? Will this solve itself when I back it up a few times to adjust them?
See pics - you can see how the brake has shoe has lifted up from the anchor pin & doesn't return on the 2nd photo

the springs in the kit all seem fine- the retracting spring - the big green one- looks exactly same guage as was in there. Wrong shoes? Wear in time? More grease? I can just smack on it and it goes back down, but not sure how long down the road I need to go to hit an equivalent bump to get the shoe to return when I'm on the road
