Oh and this is for ATF not engine oil.
Yep, my truck started out as a 2wd shortbed regular cab, Centurion made it into a 4x4 crew cab. On the plus side, my registered weight is 4200 lb, which is about 1k less than it actually weighs. Sticking it to the man!

I've done quite a bit of towing with mine, and I've never had an issue with the stock trans cooler. I installed a trans temp gauge just to be on the safe side though.

As far as the D60, I can't really offer any help on that...

Is it visible where they stretched the frame?

Mine weighs 5100... so that's 1000 off I think. Although my non centurion F350 is "5400" so maybe it was ford doing that?

I no longer have the centurion cooler I have a smaller one.

I hear good things about the D60...

Here is a picture of my truck before the accident. I want to find a replacement one of these grille guards. I believe it is made by Go industries

Also have a front lower valence/air dam from them.

Yep, very visible. I thought I had a picture of it on Photobucket, but I don't. It's not the worst fab job in the world, but it's not the way I would've done it. It's basically a straight cut, with a channel welded in to lengthen the frame. There's fish plates and an angle welded in on the back side too.

I would have done at least an angle cut, if not a Z cut. But, it's held up pretty well for this long. Last year, I plated the outside of the frame, from just after the Centurion welds, to just before the front spring hanger. The bed flex on this thing was NOT confidence inspiring at all, and any trailer with a tongue weight of more than 200 lb. would flex the bed vertically. It's much better now, with the plates I added.

My trans cooler is the Ford factory cooler, though I re-routed the lines to avoid having trans fluid go through the radiator before the aux cooler.

I do not see a cut on my frame and based on the weight I don't think mine was a centurion "conversion" but just upgrade packages.

The only pickups that were cut and stretched were the 1/2 tons. Since yours was available as a CC from the factory, you're correct about upgrades.

Hey guys,
Looking at some parts off an 89' F250 to do a 4x4 conversion. The F250 has a 5spd. Can I take the tcase off the 5spd(probably a zf5) and put it on my c6? My c6 has had work done to it to make it a good towing setup. Would the F250 have a dana 60 front? Do I have to do a front leaf conversion?

I figured while doing a frame off is a better time than ever for this.

The only thing I can without a doubt reply on is the axle type. The F250 will have either a Dana 44HD or Dana 50 TTB setup, and will have leaf springs (unless someone swapped it to a solid axle).

So a Dana 60 can have a coil setup?

Not a factory coil setup. Factory F350s will have the Dana 60 you're looking for, and were leaf spring only. Of course, if you're willing to fab stuff up, you could swap in a coil sprung D60 out of a Dodge, along with the trailing arms and whatever else Dodge uses to keep the axle in place.

Would that be a better option? What about just swapping the coil springs and such onto a leaf sprung axle?

You could do that too, but you'd still have to add trailing arms to hold the axle in place.

For the easiest swap, a leaf sprung 350 axle will work out fine. They actually ride pretty decently, if that's your concern.
