1962 F100 Project
I just became the excited owner a 1962 F100 with 76,000 miles on it! After graduating College this past may I decided this might be one of the few times left when I will have the money and time to start a project like this and do it right!

VIN F10JK281385
I6
I'm new to old Fords but I've spent my time on rusty jeeps and spitfires. So I am looking forward to the new experience!
Here's the plan Folks: Turn the old Truck into a functional daily driver with new parts mixed with the classic style.
First step will be to get it moving again! Which will involve replacing the universal joint between the rear diff and drive shaft!
F10 = F100 2WD
J = 223 1V I-6.
K = Kansas City MO Assembly Plant.
281385 = 1962, assembled April 1962.
Do not believe the miles shown on the odometer, as it reads to 99999.9 then returns to ZERO!
Pretty easy swap, I had never done one before took me about two hours without a shop.
Here is a pic of the old Universal Joint attached to the drive shaft, and the yoke on the rear diff.
Everything has a good layer of Texas dirt on it right now, but I'm surprised at the lack of heavy rust. The worst rust on the whole truck can be seen in the top right of the first picture. (You can see daylight though the bottom of the truck bed.)

I still don't trust the old gal for any long distance, but at least now I can get it to a shop with a lift to work on it!
Next up is to give the under side a good scrape, wash, and maybe a coat of paint or something.
Also, looking for a new exhaust to install as well as a disc brake kit for the front tires. Suggestions welcome!
Expect a new post within a week!
