96 Aerostar Seal?

96 Aerostar Seal?
Took my Aerostar to have the oil changed. Noticed tranny fluid around the driveshaft into the tranny. It wasn't spraying up on floor, however, would like to change this out. Is this very hard to do? Any diagrams or help would be appreciated. Leaving for trip next week loaded down, don't want undue pressure causing it to blow outThanks

The seal is not hard to replace, but you should consider replacing the bushing on the extension housing as well or your new seal will likely leak. Bushing reqires an internal style puller. The old seal will not blow out, it simply retains bushing fluid. There is no pressure on it, just passive lubrication.

Does the 4 star bolts come off the universal easily?
Do you know of a schematic I can get my hands on?
Does the drive shaft come out easily?
Does Autozone sell the internal seal puller.
I am a novice, but am somewhat mechanical. If I can replace a 97 Lumina Alternator, I think I can handle this?
