Saturday Feb. 15th at 3pm. Jumping Run Creek Mud Bog. Hubert, NC. Gates open at noon. Racing starts at 3pm
Our very own chapter member 77mud is competing on Saturday. Right now I'm planning on taking my whole family to this event. I checked and we have the weekend open and we'll mud bog it Saturday and visit family while we're down there on Sunday.
My wife and I will be there Saturday. Charlie (canes) said he might show up. If anyone else is going send me a message and let me know so we can meet up.
It was cold, blowing and wet all day. But clearing they kept saying. The wife and I had a nice morning together. The kids and dog were at the grandparents. We were on the island and had the whole day to play before the mud bog.
Well they were right. It finally cleared up right before dark:
Just in time to watch the kids run. One boy and one girl and they both put the hammer down and it was fun to watch. Pretty sure they both put up better times then some of the men.
This is our own 77mud (Larry) Who I think could have took his class if he had got a second pass. But he said he had starter issues between runs and it shut him down. Unfortunately we were never able to meet but there's always next time.
This guy smoked the small pit:
This guy pretty much ran for fun as no one else in his class made a pass. He grinded through the big pit first pass. Then got bogged down about 3/4 through his second pass and shot mud about 25 feet in the air. It was pretty awesome.
It was a nice facility and friendly folks. We'll be back. Maybe when it's warmer and there are a few more rigs running. But definitely worth the stop if you're in the area and it's running.
Here is a video of one of the Ol' Blue racing team trucks, drove by my younger sister (one of the kids that ncheavymetal mentioned) and she is 7 years old.
and then there is my Pass, I was the first truck in the pit, and first pass of the year, i chose a side, and it turned out to be the wrong side, but like was stated only got one pass because my starter locked up.
This weekend. Fri, Sat, Sun. All the details and schedules are on the web link. Lots of cool stuff to do and see out there. I think it used to last a few days longer but maybe I am mistaken. It's been a few years since I've been.
If anyone goes post up some details and tell us how it went. Have fun.
James, The show I mentioned is in Denton NC on the weekend of May 16-17. It's called the AMCA Southern National Meet. This years theme is race bikes, but all makes are welcome. I was a great day last time I went there. If any one is interested post up maybe we can all get together.
