Ranger Dashboard Question

I have a 2000 Ranger XLT 4x4 and noticed a little vent opening just to the right of the center AC vents and to the left of the pass side air bag. Would anyone know what this is? No air comes out of it-its like a small i call it a vent in the dash.. Thanks so much for any help!

Ranger Dashboard Question

I'm actually as baffled as you are. We have the same thing on our 2000 Explorer here at work. There's no explanation in the owner's manual.

Ranger Dashboard Question

That is the intake for the temperature control sensor if the vehicle has Electronic Automatic Temperature Control.

Ranger Dashboard Question

Cool, now I know what that is. My friend's 2001 Explorer Sport has that small vent too, I was wondering what that was.... I don't think he has the automatic temp control, just manual control *****...

Even the ones with manual AC have the vent there. I guess Ford does that so they only have to make one instrument panel.
