Dentside Steering Wheel

I want to put an aftermarket steering wheel on my 73. The steering wheel is about an inch 1/2 from my thighs while driving. I do have power steering so going to a 15" or 14" shouldn't be too big of a deal. I really dont want to have to swap the column out.

Grant makes an adapter to use any of the steering wheels they sell in our trucks.

Is the quality decent on the cheaper steering wheels?

why not try and find a sport steering wheel, they look smaller to me (haven't measured it yet)...

Please don't put a grant in... I despise grant steering wheels, everyone has to put them in everything, and they are just a pain to deal with when the motor isn't running....

I was always told that the sport steering can be bolted to the 73-77 columns, but the horn won't work. It has to do with how it's wired with the turn signal cancel cam I think. I'm not positive though. Maybe someone with more knowledge on that can offer advice.

Maybe he means the "generic" look of some of them? But not all of them look bad, I just need to be careful not to get something too small

Probably because most people have a messed up stock steering wheel, then they put the cheapest aftermarket one on.

Well that's about where I'm sitting right now. The broke **** stock one is holding the interior back a bit

I just bought a Grant wheel and the installation kit they sent me was for a golf cart! I have the new kit ordered and on the way, so I'll be able to tell you how it effects the driveability of the truck.

I only have power assist steering, so I'm assuming it's going to take a little bit more effort with the smaller wheel.

Well my truck has full power steering. I can use one finger in a parking lot to turn around in the parking lot. I'm probably going to look for a 14" or 15", I just wanted to hear what people thought of the different steering wheels

I just put a 15 inch all black wheel in my truck. It seems to be the perfect size for me, its a three spoke signature series.
