PHP sell the Hydra 15-pos with downloadable tunes including the stock ones. It could take them a few weeks for fulfil the order. You need to quote your PCM code on your order form.
BTW, if Clay also reckons it could be the tune that's good enough for me!
Here's a paste of the email reply I got back from them when I placed my order in Sept last year:
Simon,
Thank you for your recent order. We received an order from you for a Hydra Chip and an Insight CS. We are processing your order and had a question… Would you like the optional thermocouple for the CS? This would provide the ability to monitor EGTs on the Insight. The cost on the thermocouple is $130 US. I just didn’t want to send the order and then have you decide that you did want to get the thermocouple and end up paying a lot in shipping for such a small relatively small item.
Please let me know one way or the other and I’ll get your order completed right away.
Thank you.

Adrian,
Have you heard of any good apps for the iphone for our trucks? I have tried a few and whilst I can get my phone to connect to the wifi adapter after that i seem to get a whole lot of nothing in the information world. Just wondering if anyone has anything that actually works with the iphone????
M8. I have my DPF6 here I can mail over to you until you sort this ****e out. Just check with Clay that you can run it. I cant see why not. Its set up for my my stock engine.
I'd say you have a preloaded tune on your PCM which increases line pressure, combined with the increased firmness of the VB = gear slammin time.
Brian,
Thanks for the offer mate. I tried to call your mobile the other day when it all went to S@#t to make some sense of it, but you must have changed your number. I ordered a DP F6 from Clay last night. I am just not going to drive the truck until it arrives through fear of busting the box. Just really annoying to find things out this way. Wish the P/O had of told me or left the scanner with me to restore the standard tune.
Update. I put a DP Tuner in the truck in hope that it would fixing the JWVB, but no such luck. On the first test drive it chirped the tyres from first to second and then second to third. Not nice to drive at all. So the problem is still there, even overriding any existing programs in the PCM. Any ideas on what it could be. Did I just get real unlucky with a faulty VB. I am going to remove it on Saturday at this stage so that I can still drive the truck. Anyone with any ideas as to what it could be, please respond.
Yeh Brian. Nothing like that came with the JWVB. More to the point, do I need it??? I have emailed Clay asking the question and will follow up with a phone call tomorrow morning to try to make sense of what has gone wrong. I also have PM,d simon to see if he was supplied one with his JWVB.
Brian & Clay fitted my JWVB up. It seemed to be just an alloy body machined up, old one came out, new one went in. Clay took the old core back with him.
well its the only "wat if" you have going on with your setup. Anyone else out there with the JWVB. Did you get a plate as well ????
G'day Fellas,
Nope, not that I can recall.
Just coated the deck with cardboard and old sheet.
Drain fluid.
Dropped tranny pan.
Took out filter.
Pulled OEM VB.
Fitted JWVB (torqued up in in/lbs).
New filter.
Pan on.
Filled ere'up with Castrol Transmax Z.
Good to go .
However; There is a small fine strainer filter about 19/20mm in diameter that can and will fall out as you pull the OEM VB. It did that to me but I heard a 'paaloop' in the dish I had under the tranny as fluid just keeps dripping out.
I fished around in the dish and found that little strainer and put it back in place before fitting the JWVB.
Luckily I heard it drop as I didn't know there was one in the system
That may have unwittingly happed to you Wallsy, and without that little strainer in place could have let something through and is causing your issue...maybe
The only way I am going to know that is when I remove the trans pan and filter. Looks like I will be doing that on Saturday. I will take photos during the process etc. Just now wondering how the truck will go now that it has the DP tuner on it allowing for a JWVB that is not there, if that makes sense. Guess I will find out.
Sooo, after a series of emails with John for John Woods and a Skype call, he finally identified the issue. Really nice bloke to talk to as well. My truck did in fact have a mildly Modded VB with a transgo plate in there. Seems when the gearbox shop swapped the VB,s they left the transgo plate in there. Whether they thought it was part of the box or all the other VB,s he,d done had one, who will know. Also if I had of installed the JWVB myself in the first place, I can assure you I would have left that in there and not have known. Anyway I removed the transgo plate and what do you know. It changes perfectly, just like it should have in the first place. So Brian, you were on the right track about the transgo plate being the issue. I just need to loose one, not gain one. Also when I skyped john he said that some of his VB,s have the transgo plates and some don,t just depends if they need them. So anyone out there installing a JWVB, check that there isn't a transgo plate there prior to installing the JWVB. The one I send back to him will obviously need one. So I can close this thread out hopefully one and for all.
