High Frequency 460 engine vibrations

High Frequency 460 engine vibrations
I have a 97 F250HD XLT SB 5 spd man with a high frequency vibration that becomes apparent at around 2200 to 2500 rpm. I first assumed it to be a drive shaft/ u-joint problem and had the u-joints replaced and the shaft balanced. Then figured out it happens while parked... My mechanic says it may be a out of balance:
Clutch
Fly wheel
Crankshaft
The vibration can really be felt in the shifter and its enough to put your hand to sleep if you rest it on the shifter. On the highway it makes a slight wwhhaaa whhaaa (about a wwhhaa per second, if that makes sense...) sound between 60 and 65mph.
I just bought the truck about a month ago (74,000 miles on it) and I didn't notice the vibration on the rough interstate near the sellers house but have since then (I know, buyer beware!)
Has anyone else had this problem and found a cure??? I did a search of this forum for "vibrations" and found some stuff for V10's and newer trucks but none targeting my year and model truck. Thanks in advance for any ideas/help!
