OK folks looking for advice - again-
2008 110,000 miles H & S tune with Cat and DPF gone - for 2 years
(best thing for these 6.4's) since tune no oil dilution and awesome power.
But - in Illinois we have to deal with Bio-fuel. Yesterday temp was -17 had a full tank of the bio crap truck was plugged in all night, fuel filters were changed 250 miles ago, headed up interstate for work and she started to sputter - pulled off set for a few and good again - for a couple of miles - Repeat - repeat for 40 miles. on return trip engine icon came on. - kept speed below 50 - was able to limp home. So - I know the best thing is to drain the 25 gallons of bio crap out and send it to our state legislators who subsidize the bio industries, but, now what do I need to do about the engine icon -
Are you running any diesel conditioner, my personal opinion is you should always run something but in the winter you need a winter conditioner to prevent gelling. Nothing with alcohol in the ingredients.
OK - here's what I'm going to try -
First - a warm garage -
Second - Change both fuel filters, -
Third - Check codes on the tuner (H & S Minn Max) Fourth (hopefully it will only be rail pressure)
Fourth- Clear Codes -
If all this works - then I heading South - the heck with this cold weather stuff.
