None of the places around me have an OBD1 reader for rent/borrow and dealers want an hour of labor just to bring it into the bay. I also want to get one just to be more self-sufficient.
Is there any preferred kind of reader for the IDI trucks? I was looking at the Innova 3145 with the 3149 cable. Any opinions?
I know I can jump the wires, count blinks, etc. but I have specific readers for all of my other stuff and want one for the 250. To me, $50 for the cord and reader is short money for a lifetime of service. Any other recommendations?
Thanks in advance.

You only need a code reader if you have the E4OD transmission. In that case the 3145 will work fine.
Otherwise there is no computer/ECM in an IDI truck.
