73-79 Long bed

Im looking for a bed for my 79 F100. I have been searching for months here in Michigan and have not come across any, Or any in decent shape. If any one knows of one any where or has a listing for one please let me know.

Stylesides: 1973/76's have exposed fuel caps, 1977/79's have fuel doors.

Yes numberdummy I know. I also realize the inside wheel wells in the beds are different. 73-6 they are longer then the 77-9. But they do interchange. Thanks for the heads up though.

Have you checked out the local craigslist and maybe this guy for a lead on one in state? Yes maybe a little far to drive?

Have you contact your FTE state chapter and see if you can get a lead from any one there?

Got two boxes. A 78 dual tank box & a 77 single tank. But I'm in Nebraska. And l'm not giving them up cheap.

look into buying a parts truck. It is cheaper in the long run and you can part it out/crush it when you have all the parts you want/need.

I have one off a 76 highboy. It is not perfect, but it is not all rusted out either. If interested send me a PM. I'm in Michigan also.

I have talked to the place that sells all the front clips, the also sell beds but there beds go to a reconditioning process and they sell them in as new/rebuilt with a hefty price tag of $2000+ and that's out of the question right now.

That's what I wanted to do but I don't have enough room for that where I live and the shop im doing all my work on the truck at wont let me store another truck in the lot.

Check with the local towing companies that take impounded vechicles
and have public auctions.
Saw a clean running 74 sell last week for $300.

I've hit the public auctions once or twice here where I live & its a waste of time.
They start out out scrap price & then the Mexicans just bid everything up beyond what their worth.
