Shopping for 2012 Expedition EL
Hello all. It's been a while since I last posted. My wife asked me if she could absorb my 2000 Expedition into her thriving business. I told her yes. I absolutely love that vehicle. Anyway, I knew when the time came that I would get another Expedition. I'm fairly certain that I've decided on a 2012 EL. That model year has the best Consumer Reports ratings. I like the fold flat seats and extra cargo room in the rear.
Please give inputs about the 2012 model, the EL version and should I consider a 2011 model? Do the ELs come standard with a factory tow package? Any personal insight/information you could provide in these regards would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Has anyone added the power-fold 3rd row option themselves? I see several 2012 Expedition EL candidates but most do not have this option on them. Yesterday I test drove a 2012 EL XLT with this option. The wife and I both liked that feature quite a bit. It had a button on the console for automatically opening and closing the lift gate and of course the buttons way back in the cargo area. Have any of you added this option yourself to your vehicle? Merry Christmas.

Kailor,
Don't mean to rain on your parade, but the whole paint corrosion issue with our 2010 EXpy and the a--holes at Ford Motor Co. that refuse to acknowledge or correct this well known and ongoing problem would certainly make me look at alternatives. Have been a very loyal Ford fan for years, but I am DONE! Look at the Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/fordpeelingpaint/ and start reading. I don' t know what to do with ours... 3 more years of payments left and $1100 to "fix" the aluminum corrosion on the hood and liftgate, and rust on the pinchweld on the rear door... oh yes, the idiots at the dealership took a grinder to the top of the rear door so it would "fit" better, which is now rusting too. Not a Chevy fan but we are looking at Tahoe's... if the Sequoia got better fuel mileage thats what would be in our garage. Thanks Ford.
