RRE 2014
Like Josh said, "Believe you me, no one is more upset about it than me" For eight years I've been hauling that camper around and the one time I truly want it to cooperate, it let me down. The super slide, 13 1/2' long by 40" extended, the motor burned up when trying to put it in. I heard a click in the electrical box and the slide stopped. Then I could smell electrical. I always thought it was a bad design but it always worked. When the slide goes out, at the last few inches it drops down making the floors even. So, when you go to put it in, the first few inches, it has to climb up, then levels out. I know its not a shear pin because it attempted to come in then stopped and the motor wasn't spinning. There isn't a manuel crank to bring it in, believe me, I looked. This motor has a drive shalf on it that operates both worm gears on both support beams, I think it should have two motors. I read on the motor its RPM's is 8 and the hp is 1/10, WOW. They sure are proud of it, its $488.I spent all day trying to figure out a way to get it in, failed. I called all around the nation for a motor, failed. I finally called the manufacture and they are two weeks back ordered. The only good thing is the campground wasn't full and I don't have to move.
This really upsets me beyond words. I really wanted to meet my keyboard buddies, LOL I hate saying "next year, next year" but I'll say it anyway, "next year"!!

My last camper had a manuel crank. Even on my other two smaller slides on this camper, they don't have a manuel crank. I guess I'll have to carry an extra motor.

Everyone be safe and have a good time!
Bill, that's not a bad idea, I'll have to take a closer look. The smaller slide is a little less then half the size of the big slide, if its the same motor, it hasn't worked as hard for 12 years, that's for sure. I'll still need a motor though, I've never heard of a RV junk yard but could sure use one now. Even if switching campers, I'm 750 miles from there Aaron, I'm afraid its not going to happen. Have fun guys!
Have a great time everyone!
Working hard to get this on my 2015 calendar, for sure. I have a show half ton gasser (see sig) and there's 2 major shows that hit mid/late July together that I really enjoy doing, so travel cost and paid time off work is gonna be tough to juggle.
