I have had it. I always use RO water to rinse my trucks off but I still have these dang H2O spots. Must be from initial wash. I have tried glass cleaner, and straight vinegar doesn't even get these lil pita`s
Anybody have suggestions?
Years ago, I used to use "Bon Ami" pot cleaner, to get water spots off of windshields and other auto glass. (It used to be the least abrasive pot scrubber on the market.)
Work in a small area, get the windshield/glass wet, sprinkle a LITTLE Bon Ami onto a damp sponge and work in small overlapping circles. Don't rub too hard. (Test in a small area FIRST!!!)
Rub/polish the glass and rinse clean. DRY immediately. Proceed to next area.
For paint/body, Meguiar's "Scratch X". Wash/dry the vehicle and then work the "Scratch X" in small areas with a clean, dry lint-free rag.
Polish/buff out after it dries.
I authored the second one and its somewhat similar to BlueOval's idea in that it uses an abrasive. Either way its vitally important to keep the area flooded in order to prevent micro or larger scratches.
A good product like PPG's AquaPel is great to prevent those hard water spots. Rain-X is good enough, cheap and easily obtained, another decent product. I've also seen show car guys use a very hard paste wax on windows which would also be a great deterrent.
Hank when I get down to Ronsen Shower door co in Hayward/ San Leandro I pick up a Glass Cleaner it takes soap scum, hard water spots, the Product works real well. ( A- MAZ water stain Remover)
