I'm glad everything worked out, Flea. If you'd like, I can document any feedback you have about your experience with the dealership. Send me a PM with your full name, best daytime phone number, dealer info, and any specifics you'd like me to include. I'll do the rest.

As a Ford stock holder, I'd like to say this is the kind of company involvement I love to see. Thanks for your service Crystal!
I've also noticed quite a few 2009 and up with rusty bedsides along wheel openings. Anybody experience that yet?
When I hand wash mine I make sure I run my fingers with the hose along the inside and wash out all the crap that accumulates in there. I have also squirted some waste oil back there when its dry to help, hopefully. I have a few gallons of waste oil to use up
Yeah I have been cleaning my new to me 2012 f150 with no rust.
I have planned to go to a bodyshop this Spring and after cleaning those areas that are locked in by body panels to spray the POR15 undercoating spray on them. I might then undercoat the whole truck later this summer.
I too appreciate Crystal's help.
The dealership that I bought the truck from took care of me.
I traded out for a truck with no rust and got a new Ecoboost for the same price.
Zeck Ford in Leavenworth, KS has some of the best prices and great customer service. Gene Sirabella was my salesman and totally took care of me.
I have soaked the under carriage of my truck with diesel oil since new, twice a year since day one hopefully this fights the rust. There is a nice oily film now under truck.

I have a 2010 F150 crewcab with extended be Platinum now with 111K miles. I keep it garaged and purchased it 2 years ago when it had 74K miles on it. I noticed the paint started to blister on the drivers side last summer and now it is getting really noticeable with a rust colored spots now appearing. Paint is starting to bubble on the passenger side now too.
I had a passenger in the back when it was raining and they said water was dripping down from the headliner in both rear corners of the cab. I took my truck into the dealer and was told it would be $95 to investigate where it was coming from. I was later told it was the rear cargo light and the seal had gone bad, which they for $295.
I have since gone online and found it was not an uncommon issue for the cargo light seal to fail. I now believe my rusting issue is a result of the faulty seal on the cargo light. Is there any Ford will do to help me?
Thanks, Jack
For the record.. most of the time these trucks rust out the cab corners because of what's going on INSIDE, not outside the truck. Specifically, the 3rd brake light leaks (occasionally it's a body seam up top, but usually the brake light) and that water settles in the lower cab corners and rusts them out. So instead of wasting your money on expensive undercoating, keep an eye on your 3rd brake light sealing, and then just keep the truck washed properly during winter and you're good to go.
Mine has 117,000 with zero rust, and I have friends with far more miles than me and zero rust.
