Hi to all and Happy 2014! After a couple of years of wrestling with getting rid of my truck(aka the beast)I finally took the plunge and bought another vehicle. I'm selling the truck with no idea what price to ask but know the experts here can help. She's a 1988 F250 7.3 4X4 extended cab with 85,000 miles. Tried the blue book but it doesn't go back that far. Any ideas? Thanks! Lisa
This one is gas. You should add at least $1500 for the diesel. Having not seen your truck, I can't comment on condition. It may help raise the price if it is inspected
Normally I would have jumped on your truck, but I bought an 05 6.0 f 350 4x4 dually yesterday
And people around here were telling me 1500 - 2000, so glad I asked. I knew y'all would be able to help. Thanks!
I'll give you 2k without looking at it, lol
the 7.3 is worth $1500-$2000 alone.
if the automatic shifts fine, there's another $2,000
Looks like you need to join Md chapter again. Click at the link top left of the page
You get kicked out if you don't post for a while
Once you're a md member again, take a good picture of your truck and post it in the for sale ad at the top of Md chapter page, in the stickies.
You can also post in the world wide FTE just go to FORUMS on the left side of the FTE header, Then scroll down to Vehicles for sale. Be sure to follow the rules, or your ad could get kicked out
Jr's the Chapter leader here now, he can help you more than I on these things
Keep in mind you have a very appealing truck, so be patient, and you will find it a new home.
Like I say, Had I not just bought the new to me dually, I'da been all over your truck.
Well now aren't you the funny one Requested to rejoin the Chapter, think I did it right. I kinda figured it was a popular truck as in the past 4 years have had quite a few guys want to buy it. It's taken me awhile to decide to part with it but am finally ready to let her go. I do have a "waiting" list of interested people, my mechanic being #1. This truck brought me cross-country from WA State so we've traveled quite a ways together.
Hey Charlie, that 7.3 is an IDI engine non-turbo (unless he added a Banks to it). I sure don't see him getting much more than 2k for it. Back in 06 I only got 7k for my '92 WITH the Banks kit on it.

Happy Thursday morning everyone!
So what would the bottom line be, 2,000, 5,000 or somewhere between? Banks kit? I don't even know what that is. I appreciate the knowledge & help with this.
A "BANKS" kit is the manufacturer (Banks - out of California - Banks Power | 83-93 Ford - 6.9 & 7.3L>>Sidewinder® Turbo System ) and they have or had a kit you could buy to install a much needed turbo to the early 7.3 and 6.9 diesel engines.
According to their web site, they still sell the kit.
