Questions
1.)a) Will I get a deep or wrapped over sound with Glasspacks?
b) How about with a performance muffler?
2.) Which would I gain more horsepower and/or torque from, a performance muffler (from Flowmaster or Dynomax) or a Glasspack or Cherry Bomb?
3.) Is the performance I gain from dualling it off worth the money I will spend on the extra pipe and muffler?
4.) Where can I find a header for my engine?
In case this helps, my engine is a '91 EFI with dual exhaust manifolds. Thanks for all your help.
I beg to differ, my truck had a complete stock exhaust up until about 6 months ago. It is a '93 I6 EFI that had dual exhaust manifolds. The exhaust was completely removed right after the O2 sensor, then I had 2.25" pipe welded on to each of the remaining stock pipes, installed two flowmasters and brought it out in front of the rear wheels. The day it was done I crawled under it and checked the O2 sensor output while running, GOOD TO GO! Anyway that has been a few months ago and if I had it to do over I WOULD HAVE DONE IT THE DAY THAT I BOUGHT THE TRUCK! That has been the best modification to date that I have installed! The truck is more responsive and has more power. I am not someone who makes bogus claims, this REALLY helped my truck. As far as the sound goes I like it but it is very unique (think diesel/logging truck almost V8 sound with a little diesel). If you have further questions PM me, but my dual exhaust setup has helped me decide whether or not to go to a big block. I WILL BE KEEPING THE 300, THERE IS STILL HOPE.
