Congrats Mike! I'd tell you to crack a beer open if I didn't know it was already way too late for that....

Looks like the FTE rally is starting to take shape, was anybody here interested? Gettysburg area. I was thinking a June date to suggest.

Congrats Mike, she really deserves a medal. Lol

I won’t be able to make it out to Gettysburg, summer months are impossible to get that much time off without losing a bunch of business.

Hey y'all,

Went to the 4H fair few weeks ago, then a hard rock/metal music festival with my brother in Ohio.

Pulled the driver side manifold off the 7.3 in the bronco. Got 5/8 of the broken studs removed, one broke off flush with the head when I cut it from the manifold. Was going to pull the heads to remove the 3 studs but then I found a guy in Indiana who has heads fresh from the machine shop with 200 miles on them. Wanted $800 but if I make the trip he said he'll do $600 so the bronco is getting new heads and head studs!

I bought a $20 tool that looks like a drill Chuck to grab the studs as you tighten down on it and it worked wonders but now the last 3 are about flush with the mating surface so they need to be drilled out to be removed.

What I do is put a nut over the flush stud, then weld the nut to the stud through the hole... cool thing is that heat is the byproduct of welding. Never had one I couldn't get...yet.

I may have to try that. They either problems are trying to get in there with a welder and my welder is the cheap $80 Chicago electric one.

That's how I normally pull them too. If they are stuck ill use the tig to heat them to try and avoid breaking them, quicker and more percis then a torch.

My welder says Snap-On on it. Found out from my Snap-On guy last week that in the last 5 years I've only spent $24,800 on his bus. On the plus side, my balance is $0.00
