Only reason to go to another state for an ezpass is for lower fees.

I think most of the states now charge some fees to use the ezpass stuff but they are reasonable.

 

The only toll roads in Illinois are in the Chicago area, I don't usually travel there so We don't have one.

 

I can use my ezpass there.

 

Some govt dipstick decided all of a sudden theyre gonna use the EZ pass system to start charging tolls on ALL BRIDGE AND TUNNEL access routes to pay for "maintenance" and if you dont have a transponder theyll charge you $5 a crossing

MA doesnt charge a Monthly Account Maintenance fee for you to have it.. i can order it from them and not have to pay for it to sit in the vehicle..

Va is .50 a month per standard transponder $1 per month for each flex transponder. i will be required to have 2 transponders due to the different toll rates for my vehicles...

 

Won't be long before the states will charge for the air we breath.

 

MD still has a cash option for now on everything but the Inter county connector and the soon to be opened express lanes on 95. Those are electronic tolls only.

 

That sucks Shawn but it is another way to "fund" projects.

 

shhh dont give the commonwealth ideas... they have enough stupid ones as it is...

the only toll i ever had to use was in PA getting on and off the turnpike.. so paying $12 a year to have it sitting there till those trips never made sense... that is prior to this BS... and i still dont feel like paying $12 a year for it to sit there...

very... projects theyve had the money for and misappropriated it else where..

 

That it is Neil. It does suck. I have had my ezpass for several years now and like using it. Keeps me from having to figure out how much toll money I would have to bring.
