All true but consider doing power brakes and steering at the same time. Best bet is buy another truck and move everything. I like 76-79 with the same engine as the target truck. It seems easy, just take a wheelbarrow, fill it up with parts at the Junk Yard and install all that stuff on your truck. NOT! If you have a parts truck you can take your time and clean, inspect, paint and rebuild all the stuff you will need. Then do the installation. It will take a few days of work but if everything is on site it usualy goes really well. Post back we like to hear how these projects go. We all were where you are at one time or another over the years. I am forgetting my manners, I'd like to say Welcome to FTE! This is the greatest site for Ford trucks.
I did one of these and it was one of the easier swaps on a Ford that I have done. The only part that wasn't a bolt on was the size of the flare nuts on the balance valve. We had to put on the larger ones which will require doube flaring them in some rather tight quarters.
