Y block question

I have a 54f100 with the y block ,and I want to put the igniter point replacement in the distributor, but I can't see the distributor number. All I can see is ford engraved on the side any suggestions on what kit or number to use?

Pertronix 1282 I used on my 1954 Y block engine. I have not had any problems and starts every time!

Be sure that you do not have a replacement distributor. The replacement ones could be the 57 up style which use a different part number.

The 1957 and newer distributor has a vacuum advance as well as a mechanical centrifugal advance located under the breaker plate.* Special weights dampened with small coil springs advance the breaker plate when required by increases in engine r.p.m
