^+1, the gauge sensor has one wire going to it, the ECT sensor has two wires.
Were you replacing the ECT because you had a trouble code for it, or just on a whilm to try & address the hot start problem???? On the hot start problem, if you have a CEL/SES light lit, have the computer scanned for trouble codes & post All code Numbers, as they can offer up good trouble shooting clues.
Did the hot start problem come about suddenly after some event, or slowly over time???
Sorry for delay response.. Yes just trying ECT on a whilm. Trouble has been there sinse i bought truck two years ago....Today I will change correct ECT.. (PCM) Will see how that goes....
Are you replacing the ECT sensor because you have a CEL/SES light lit, with a trouble code for the ECT saying its out of range???? If not, don't waste your time & money replacing the ECT. Take the time to perform a proper trouble shoot, find the problem part, Then replace that puppy!!!!
