1995 F150, 4.9/5spd. I've only had it for about a month. After hooking up a trailer (inluding lights to an existing plug in the bumber), the ABS light on the dash started flashing. The brakes feel fine, although I've not given them the panic stop test.
Also, what is the best reference book for this truck?
Should have the codes checked. Also, the ABS sensor is on top of the rear diff, follow the wires back as far as you can and make sure there isn't a bad connection somewhere, especially where the wires connect into the sensor. The signal is a pulse signal, and any kind of disruption will mess it up.

Do you have any trouble with the engine running, specifically 2-3 mph? How about a bouncing speedometer needle?

I haven't noticed the 2-3 mph stumble, but I'll check it out this afternoon. Tonight I'll check the wireing from the diff to see what's up. I may be back later with more fun and entertaining questions.
Also on my to do list is the EGR partial block off.
If you're only symptom is a flashing ABS light, no speedo needle, wiring trouble, something like that...than i can't help ya. If you have those kind of symptoms..i can steer you in the right direction.

I have had the same problem after fiddling with trailers behind my 1995 f-150 4x4 302 AODE<--Piece of junk transmission. My pigtail connector was grounding out on my bumper...My ABS light would flash, and my truck wouldn't shift out of park with the engine running....I found out I was blowing fuses...I remember replacing fuse position 15, (ABS), and fuse position 13. Good luck..
