E pump 6.9
Installed! World of difference in highway rpm, I had a little high rpm surge and now its gone. Could be me but over all a little better performance , money well spent and not now have to worry about the engine filling up with fuel
Besides the oil leak, any reason you couldn't leave the mechanical pump attached to the engine?
I'm going to do an e pump on mine and was thinking that rather than remove the lift pump, I'd just put a hose barb on the outlet and run some fuel hose over to the e pump but leave the hoses plugged in hopes that if the e pump ever crapped out I could just swap lines to the mechanical.

You could leave it in and cap off the lines to seal it... but I also am going to carry a spare e pump, relay, wiring..... ect..... I have faith in the pump but you never know when you or your stuck IDI friend might need one
i bought a blockoff plat for my 88, but never put it on. the pump was still good, i just wanted to replace it with the e pump for easier starting as my injector pump was dying.
i connected the inlet to the outlet to keep crap out of it.

So I thought about adding a "pre filter" before the electric pump, even though the pump has a filter on it. So I went down to autozone and bought one of these little cheap filters. Not to my surprise they didn't or couldn't give me any information on the flow rate, I'm just looking to maybe filter some of the big stuff out before it reaches the pump if I were to ever get anything in the tank. What do you guys think? I figured I would install it and check my fuel pressure to make sure it wasn't actually restricting it.. I don't know what do you guys think
