The other day when I was in town I pulled up to the gas station and noticed in the window that my left parking light was on kinda. Not as bright as it should be, but still on. Didn't have the lights on either. So I fiddled with the turn signal lever and it went out. That night when I was headed home with the lights on I put the left turn signal on and it wouldn't blink. When I got home I tried it again with the lights on and still nothing. Turned the lights off and it worked. But then I just happened to put my foot on the brake pedal and the dash lights came on.Being that it's totally frozen outside I'm not wanting to spend too much time lookin' and pokin' around for the short.Does anyone have an idea where the short might be?I know the OD cancel button wires breaking is a common thing and I thought maybe this is too.The truck still drives OK but this could turn into a bigger problem.I hope not. Being a carpenter this is my DD. I depend on the old girl quite a bit. Any help or advice would be appreiciated. I searched for a thread about this a little but don't have the time to do a thorough search. Thanks guys for any replies.
I'd be checking the wiring connector on the back of the headlight switch. They commonly get hot & melt, along with the switch itself. So many circuits go through it, strange things can happen when it goes...
Thanks for the replies guys.I checked the ground points, they were OK. The light switch I haven't looked at yet .Just got home from work. I have been leaning towards the turn signal ***'y. for some reason. My OD cancel button wire is broke again so maybe I'll fire up the woodstove and check those out after church tomorrow. Thanks again.
