I have a 1966 f100 with who knows what type of Frame, it's got a 292 y block but the frame was cut in the rear. 1966 f100 steering boxes don't look like this at all, it's broken from the previous owner and looks like it was glued back? I'd rather get a new one, but no clue what it's out of. Link to Photo album of the box http://s1025.photobucket.com/user/19...uck/slideshow/ If anyone could help or if you can't see the pictures let me know. Thank you kindly.

That is a F100/F250 four wheel drive Gemmer box mutilated and cut down to use a separate column from something else. It is not correct for any 66 F100. I could not see a model on it but the gemmer was also used in the F350s 61 to 66

Post the trucks VIN.

here is a Gemmer box and column from a four wheel drive with a 65 66 3 wheel drive column behind.

Cannot be a 1966 F100 if it has a 292 Y block.

292 discontinued at the end of the 1964 model run, has dizzy behind carb.

1965/66's came w/a 352 V8, dizzy in front of carb.

Is this F100 2WD or 4WD?

Post the VIN on the frame and we can tell you just what year it is. It is on the top of the passenger rail in two locations one just before the steering box and the other under the cab.

1961/65 F100 4WD has front leaf springs. 1966 F100 4WD has coil spring front suspension.
